How come a retiree can use the aafes website but a darn combat vet doesnt qualify? My Star Card is s
I served in Iraq for a year as a gunner. I served my country with blood sweat and tears. Literally. My enlistment was up last Dec. and apparently even though my Star Card Account is still opened and current I have no privileges to use even the Aafes website to buy stuff. A retiree can use aafes but not a loust combat Vet?!?!? Am I asking too much? I pay Star via auto withdrawal from my checking acct. I'm not even asking to be let into the actual stores. I just think I earned at least the privelege of online Aafes shopping, especially since I have a current Star account.

Being a combat vet does count for some things, however permanent exchange benefits isn't one of those things.
Since you are no longer on active duty or officially affiliated with the military, you are not authorized exchange privileges.
I would expect that once the balance of your star card is payed in full the account will be canceled.
Thank you for your service, but as a retiree, the use of the exchange is one of the privileges for my service (which included the blood, sweat, tears, and years) .
Contact your congressman and see if he'd sponsor legislation to extend exchange privileges to wartime veterans.

I'm trying to pay my credit cards off early and am not sure if I have an annual fee on them?
I'm using the dinktown.net calculators and I'm factoring in my current balance, monthly payment, APR, etc. and it wants to factor in my annual fee.
The problem is I'm not sure if I even have an annual fee. Does every card have one? I don't remember ever paying this. Or does it already factor into my monthly payments?
If it helps I'm talking about a bestbuy card and and AAFES Star card.
Good thinking that you are trying to clear off all the debt.
Call toll free numbers and ask them questions to find out terms and conditions. IF possible, request them to send you a copy of disclosures of interest rate, annual fee, etc..etc., This time around, please save the paperwork :)
military star card?
ok so i know that with the star card you can use it at the px and commisary....but is there anywhere else other than on post where you can use this card? and i know that aafes.com has their own mall and stuff but i dont like the stores that they have...anyone know of other places???? just wondering......thanks!
As already stated - nope it can only be used on post/base at specific places. If the commisary is taking it now that is new.
This was originally just for uniform needs (UCDPP) at Clothing and sales and then was expanded.
