Questions & Answers
Abba............? When abba sang a song e.g Take a chance on me, fernando. Was it released in english only or was it released in diffrent languages for difrent countrys.
Matt, I know of a Fernando version done in Spanish. Good tune in any language. Yes, I think its redone (don't know how) in the language of the country they listen to it in. Hope this helps.
What is it about ABBA that makes their music so popular even 25 years after they stopped producing n I have a Karaoke Taxi Cab and more than any other song or group, ABBA gets requested the most, even by people who were not even a twinkling in their mother's eye when ABBA was together. What is it aboujt their music that seems to affects people's very souls?
Abba were/are a class act. Their music was deceptively simple in construction (although this was definately not the case! For example: If you look at the original sheet music for "Thankyou for the music" there was a chord almost on every note!). However, I read in an Abba bio/interview that each song was recorded about 20 times and in a myriad of different styles (i.e pop, tango, disco, ballad, fast tempo, slow tempo etc) to choose the "best" one before it was released. They also used novel approaches to recording the vocals (ie over-dubs at slighly different speeds to give a more richer and fuller sound) that weren't really known about back then. Besides, Benny & Bjorn were master craftsmen and those 2 women (Agnetha and Frida) could really sing. The artists of today don't need to be able to sing. The technology can make anyone with an awful voice sound like a super-star. Back then, they really needed to be able to sing to record. Some of the most famous singers of today wouldn't have jobs if they still did things the old way like Abba had to. Before you judge me too quickly I have been (un)fortunate enough to hear some their stuff before it was fixed up. Trust me, they wouldn't sell a thing. So, Abba really are a top notch act 25 years on. Class and quality persevere through time. You cannot compare fine china to paper plates!
How can I easily make an Abba costume for my daughters show? The flared trouser one? I need to make the Abba flared trouser suit, by saturday, as easyily as possible, as I am definately not good with needle and thread!! I do not have access to a machine. Any suggestions?
We had a Seventies themed party and found that the Charity shops were quite helpful to get rid of clothes they would never otherwise move.
