Mr Rudd is a liar and also abusive according to ABC radio so is he any different to Mr. Howard?
Mr. Rudd rang the Sun Herald and abused the editor and someone from his department rang the reporter and threatened her because she wrote an article which showed Mr. Rudd to be a liar. He claimed he could not remember. Also he threatened to sue a cartoonist about the cartoons of Mr. Rudd. If he cant win an argument he agrees with the Government so he has no backbone either? He has memory lapses and lies just like some politicians. Some people dont remember or were too young to know how bad it was when labor was in power years ago when some of the public had trouble just having enough to eat and we were lied to about the state of the economy. With former unionists on the cabinet of Mr. Rudd and labor in power in all states watch out for what happens with no one to stop whatever they want to do with the control they will have if elected.

I remember when Labour was in power under Whitlam and it has taken 30+ years for the Libs to try and dismantle all of the good that he did. Free education, free medical treatment etc. Howard is a rude, abusive, self promoting lier. So if you agree with continuing interest rate rises, work place agreements and Costello as the next PM you go right ahead and give Johnny another go. Don't believe everything you hear on ABC radio because guess who their boss is.

Is there an "ABC" radio channel in the Memphis area?
At home, in Philly, one of the 80-something channels, i think 88.6 or 86.8, something along those lines, broadcasted abc on the radio. Do you know if they have anything similar down in the Memphis, TN, Southaven MS area? Thank you! Did anyone hear the businessman from Beijing on ABC Radio tonight?
(Australian question): James O'Loghlin on Radio 702 ABC local had an interesting show tonight ~ he phoned Aussies living O/S to ask what was being said in their local media about the election. Switzerland ~ nothing, Malaysia ~ the guy didn't now, China ~ WOW! An Aussie wine importer told O'Loghlin there are over 4,000 Aussies resident in Beijing. He has lived there five years and said that Aussies are of great interest in China, and the Aussie election is front page news, to the extent that in October '07, there were 100 + articles in the two main Beijing dailies about the election, including the 'worm' controversy. He said Rudd's ability to speak chinese is HUGE news ~ even the ordinary person in the street knows Rudd spoke to the Chinese premier in his own language when he was here in Oz, something very few national leaders are able to do. It never before occurred to me how important it could be with China now a major player in the world economy. Interesting, yes or no? Charity G ~ You are not alone! Most of the people the host spoke to said local media were not interested in Australia at all! Glad to hear you are :-) Mr Smarty Pants ~ Great point. Perhaps closer ties and a common language could improve some of those tougher issues such as human rights and the environment. That would be a great bonus!

Not at all surprising. It's wonderful that Rudd can garner that level of interest, respect and cross the cultural divide for us in Asia. It cannot be underestimated how much it impresses people in non-English speaking countries when you speak to them in their own language. It shows a lack of arrogance and will definitely smooth relations when difficult matters are put on the table. Keating opened up our trade relations with Asia and Rudd will do him proud.
