    Questions & Answers

Which book search engine do you prefer?
Abe Books Alibris Amazon Biblio Or any others I haven't mentioned.

For more recent books, I usually go to Amazon.com. If I'm looking for out of print books or rare/hard-to-find books, I usually go to ABE books.

Where can I find information on rare books that can not be found on the well-known book search engin
I have tried the known searches, amazon, bookfinder, addall, tomfolio, abe, etc. My google & yahoo searches ahve not turned up the information either. Are ways to find lists of books published by certain authors or publishers during the 18th & 19th centuries?

In my experience, well known bookstores have gotten the information. If they didn't have it, they would find it! Give one or two a call.

Do you have an information about this book on international fairy tales?
I am trying to help a friend locate a book she used to read to her daughter when her daughter was very young. Here are some details. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks! It was a book of international/world fairy tales or perhaps they were referred to as children’s stories. The book was a hard cover published prior to 1975 but I believe it was published as many as a few decades before (1950s?). The cover was gray or something similar but it might be different with a dust jacket which was missing from this copy. The cover may also have had a simple drawing of a troll on it and, in fact, the one story I can relate is about a troll. The book was in English and likely contained translations from other languages. (If it helps, the book was likely purchased in the New England area and is very likely an American publication.) P.S. I have tried searching amazon.com, google books, ABE, and library resources... Help?

I happen to have a copy of Best loved Folktales of the world and it's author is Joanna Cole. I have had this book for years and this book has so many stories in it. Maybe your story is in there. Hope this helps and Happy hunting!
