Academy Awards?
Just to let everyone know, I am not trying to insult ANYONE by asking this question.
When the song "It's gettin' hard out here for a pimp" from Hustle & Flow was performed at the 2006 Academy Awards, I hated the song, I mean I absolutely completely hated the song. I also thought about how later it was going to get really bad reviews. And then when the song was finished, I hear this THUNDEROUS applause. was it just me, or does it seem like all the white people in the audience were just clapping because they didn't later want to be called racist by the black people who performed the song. Or, were they just trying to be polite.
AGAIN, totally not trying to offend anyone. I just read it on one of the reviews on the internet, and I was curious to see what everyone thought about it.
Or did you think that they actually enjoyed the song.
I am just speculating, but maybe the song really fit the movie well. Personally, I wasn't impressed by the performance, although that lady can sure belt out "it's hard out here for a pimp". I especially thought the choreography and costuming looked tacky and poorly executed.
Maybe the magic of live performance didn't translate through the tv screen. I have seen many plays live that I thought were awesome, only to watch the video and be sorely disappointed.
I was upset because I thought the Dolly Parton's Travelin' Thru was a tremendous song, and really good fit for Transamerica. I'm not even a country fan, but Dolly's song was great for that film.

i just heard on Pilipinas, Game KNB? that there will no airing of it on Monday to give way for the Academy Awards. GKNB will be back on Tuesday.

I am planning my wedding, and the theme is movie star glitz and glamour. I would like to know what the invitations for the Academy Awards looks like.
The academy awards invitations are gold paper with the award on the front and you have your adress, date and place on it. Hope this helps.
