Questions & Answers
Employment Advice: at a disciplinary meeting, who should be in attendance for the employer? A close friend has been informed they will have to attend a disciplinary meeting, but the manager who is to conduct the meeting would seem to be impartial.
Is this fair ? I've checked ACAS website and they suggest:
"where possible arrange for a second member of management to take notes of the proceedings and act as a witness"
What if this 2nd member is not in management? Should someone from HR be in attendance ?
(My friend has already asked someone to accompany them.)
sorry - my fault, the manager is NOT impartial
apologies.
Someone from HR MUST be in attendance to make sure that all disciplinary meetings/hearings are carried out in the same way.
