What is your your favorite "free"(not AccuWeather) weather website that has good local radar shots?
not real impressed with Weather Channel site

Use the National Weather service website. They have the best free radar. By the way if you wanted to pay for a radar site go to http://www.weathertap.com only $7.00 a month. NWS radar http://www.weather.gov/radar_tab.php

I seem to have Accuweather installed, how do i get rid of it?
(looked in add/remove programs and it's not there)

First, identify the directory the program is in. Run Start / Run / C: . When the explorer window opens click on the "Program Files" directory, then locate the Accuweather directory (folder). If it is not apparent where it is, right-click on a shortcut icon to the program and choose Properties, then note or write down the full path to the program executable, for example "c:program filesaccuweatheraccuweather.exe" (I'm just making that up). To remove the program do Start / Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs. Locate Accuweather in the list, then click on "Change / Remove" button. Read and follow the prompts and remember that you want to fully uninstall the application. When the wizard completes uninstalling the application, reboot your machine. Then run Start / C: , and navigate to the folder that you noted above where the program is installed. If the folder and it's contents are completely gone, you're good. If not, select the folder, hold down the Shift key and then press the Del (delete) key. This is "permanent delete". If it prompts you "are you sure" answer Yes. That should do it. To verify that it is not running press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to launch the Windows Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab, sort by "Image Name", and look in the "A's" at the top to see if Accuweather appears to be running. If you DO see something that looks like Accuweather, select the process and click the "End Process" button. If you were unable to delete the Accuweather folder in the steps above try it again. Last thing I would check is : Start / Run / msconfig ... click on the Startup tab, and see if you see any entries related to Accuweather. If you do, de-select the option(s), then click Apply or OK button. Note that the "Command" column shows the full path to the file it is running, and the "Location" column indicates the Registry entry location(s). You can re-verify whether all the accuweather related files are goine by browsing those paths for the command in Windows explorer, delete the files, delete the folder, etc as described above. If you are not familiar with editing the registry don't worry about the registry entries. If you ARE, you can run Start / Run / Regedit, then select Edit / Find, enter "accuweather" and click "Find Next". You can delete any accuweather entries you find. Press F3 to search again (and again) for any additional entries for accuweather. (WARNING. IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH REGISTRY EDITING DO NOT DO THIS PART. IF YOU DO IT INCORRECTLY YOU CAN CREATE MORE PROBLEMS AND POTENTIALLY RENDER YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM UNUSABLE ... ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION.) It is unfortunate that you have to go through all these kinds of hoops to fully uninstall an application, but this is a good procedure to verify that you have fully uninstalled an application. As a final step I recommend running the Disk Cleanup utility at Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Cleanup (or Start / Run / "%SystemRoot%system32cleanmgr.exe" (copy and paste the quotes and everything in between). Be sure to check off all of the desired options including emptying the trash can, delete temporary files, etc. If in doubt select ALL options. Run this when you do not need to use your computer for up to possibly an hour, though it might not take that long to finish the cleanup. Good luck!
