Adobe Acrobat Reader 3, need 8 - update or download the complete new one?
I have 3.0, but need 8.1.2 Is there a way to just update it, or do I need to download the complete 8?

I'm not sure why we have such an old version, given the computer is fairly new.
Because of the big difference in versions, will it be ok to just do a straight download? Does the old one need to be removed first?

You should be able to at least open the PDF in Adobe Reader 8. Are you sure it downloaded and installed correctly? Did you restart after you installed it?
You might want to try uninstalling the Reader, Restarting, then reinstalling.
I have an application form dowloaded from abode acrobat reader 8 and want to add text in the form Ho
The application form is downloaded and pasted in MS word but want to add and fill up the text in the application(blank spaces) form downloaded from abode acrobat reader, How do I do it? can I directly edit and add text to the form? or do I have to cut it past it in some other place and add text?
The idea is probably to print out the form, fill it in with pen and ink, and send it back via either fax, email or snail mail.
