How do I verify that I have permission to download Adaware 2007?
I own a Compaq Presario SR1913 Desktop computer running Windows XP Media Edition. I am listed as Administrator, but when I try to download Lavasoft Adaware 2007 as it is starting services I receive an error message asking me to verify I have permission to access this folder. How can I complete this download?
Ad-Aware 2007 is still *very* buggy.

I use Spybot and Adware SE together. First I run spybot, it finds most bad things. Then I update and run adware in all three modes: Smart, full system, and ADS. This usually gets rid of everything bad. They are both free.

I have tried adaware and microsoft defender and spyware bot, but the same sign keeps popping up that i need some bogus antivirus to destroy the virus.
hi, perhaps you can try norton to remove the virus and protect your PC, but you need to pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
