How to download Adobe Flash Player on Linux. No absolute idea of what I'm doing!?
I'm trying to download flash onto my computer which is linux. I download the .tar.gz file. After it downloads, a box that says install_flash_player_9 is in my desktop. The problem is, i have no idea of how to get the flash to work or how to install it. If anyone could give me step by step instructions or a site which will give me exactly what I need, that will be much appreciated!

we'll do this together, i've been putting it off Get yourself a teminal or console cd Desktop tar -xvzf install_flash* cd install_flash* ./flashplayer-installer I think that's it

How do you install adobe flash player on Linux?
i NEED step by step instructions, more spacific than the ones on the website, for example: whats a terminal? I have SUSE linux

For us to be specific...you too must be specific by specifying which distribution, browser etc you are using? Anyways download the .tar.gz file in your home directory and then (if you are using Gnome) go to Applications>Accessories>Terminal Terminal is similar to command prompt in Windows but a lot more powerful. in the terminal type this tar xvf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz The above command extracts the archive and you can see a directory now in your home directory with the name install_flash_player_9_linux. Next follow the instructions provided in the README file in the directory.

How do I install Flash Adobe onto Linux?
I have Ubuntu 6.06 and I'm trying to download Flash Adobe for Linux so I can watch videos. Unfortunately, I am not much of an expert with computers. When I am about to download, it gives me 3 versions of Flash to download. They are: .tar.gz for Linux .rpm for Linux YUM for Linux Also, once I download, I come to somethihow to use it, there is one folder, another folder in that, and then 2 more seperate folders. Out of those 2 folders, there is one folder in each. One says Flash plug-in, and the other one says doc. Inside the Flash Plugin, there are 5 more new things, although they aren't folders anymore. They are set up, READ ME, License, LibFlashplayer.so, and homecleanup. I have no idea what any of the above is. If anyone could give me step by step instructions, even if it is extremely obvious, I would appreciate it. Btw, I also only have 99% disc space. If that is a problem, I'll start deleting as much as I can. Thanks!

Simple like in windows. Download the tar.gz to your desktop. Double click and in the window that opens click the EXTRACT button and extract to your desktop. Now just double click on the installer file that extracted and you have started the installer just like in Windows. Follow the prompts and your are done... When the install is complete you can send both of those files from your desktop to the trash. Good LUCK!!!
