I downloaded Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and now it sends error must close message when trying to open page..
I think I accidentally uninstalled a previous version of Reader, yet there is still an Adobe 7 on my desktop. However, I think I removed an earlier Adobe program. What can I do to fix this problem? I cannot open ANY page with Adobe Reader 8.1.2. Help!

Problem with Adobe Reader 8.1.1?
I try to read something using AdobeReader. I does'nt load right. Tried to download 8.1.2 & "error 1714. older version or adobe reader 8.1.2 can not be removed. contact your tech.supp.group" I tried going to Control panel, Add/Rem.Prog. - could'nt change or remove 8.1.1. "This Patch Package could not be opened.Verify the patch pkg exists & that you can access it or contact Application vendor to verify it is a valid windows installer patch program." I have Windows Vista on the computer.
Any ideas how to correct or who to contact?
You are not alone, I'm having the same problem, adobe 7 works perfectly. I also asked this question with no good responses so I'm hoping someone has one. I tried installing from several sites and even system restore back to before I tried to install it, but nothing is working.
