Questions & Answers
How do I email a document I have stored in Adobe Reader 8 to a friend? Please forgive my ignorance with this very basic question, but I have some documents that I keep filed under Adobe Reader (8) that I need to email to a friend. Can you tell me all of the steps involved in doing this? I have only a rudimentary knowledge of how to operate a computer so please bear with my ignorance in doing what comes so naturally to most people. Thank you for your kind assistance.
It's not so hard, you have few things to do.
1. Go to your e-mail, log in and compose a new letter.
2.There is a button in the upper side of the letter, called "Attach files".Click it.
3.Then you'll see a page, where there are some buttons like "Browse". Go to one of them and click it.
4. Find your Adobe files in the destination in your computer. Then click "Open".
5.Do the same thing with the other files. If they are more than five, you can click "Attach more files" button, which is under the attaching side. It will open another similar box.
6. When you've finished with selecting the files, click "Attach files button", which is down, next to "Cancel".
7. Wait a little, while you upload the files and have them checked by some antivvirus software. A page with the selected files already attached will appear. Click "Return to the letter" button.
8. Then write anything you want to your friend (to express what are the files about or whatever you do with a normal letter)
9.Click "Send" button as you send a normal letter.
That's all, I hope I put it detailed enough!
How do I enable document rights in Adobe Reader 8? I do not have Adobe Professional 8 installed; just the free reader. I want to be able to use the comment and mark-up toolbar to highlight text within the PDF but it will not allow me to because "document rights are not enabled." I am aware there is a way to do this within the Adobe Professional 8 application itself, but I do not want to to download a trial simply to change that option.
Is there any way to change this setting directly in Adobe Reader 8?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, no there isn't. This option has been set into the actual document itself at save time, and as such, without a way to go into the security settings in the document, change them and then write those changes out, I can't see you being able to do this with the straight reader.
That said, there are various PDF editing tools out on the market now, and one of them MIGHT do what you're after. I wouldn't bet on it, tho. Adobe got absolutely PANNED when version 7 came out becuase of this very flaw, and Adobe Acrobat 8 has tightened this procedure up drastically.
It may well be that the only recourse you have is to download that trial (or find somebody who has the full Adobe Acroibat 8 to do it for you).

How do you efficiently activate the document signing feature on Adobe Reader 8 ? For anyone who is familiar with using Adobe Reader 8 :
I'm having to fax in a very important document for college & need to know what steps to take so that I can get it filled out & signed using Adobe Reader. How exactly to work out the issue with security features & such, which prevent a document from being signed & edited.
Any suggestions as to how to do this are gladly & kindly welcome. Also, hope all this doesn't sound too confusing. :-)
I haven't tried the "document signing" feature yet but I'm guessing it works like the "freeform" tool on the Drawing toolbar in Word. That is, you have to find the tool in Adobe, then probably click and move the mouse.
I do know that Adobe Reader 8 has a myriad of great capabilities. Open AR8 and click the Help button.
(I'm on my old PC at this writing and do not have AR8 so I can't go any further - but you will get a list of tools - explore them - they are great).
