why are aer lingus flight more expensive than ryan air, even though the base cost is the same ie £1
The total cost with ryan air was £64 and the total with Aer Lingus was £166, surely the taxes from the same airport would be the same?
It takes into account, times of the flight, how many seats they have sold for the flight already, how far in advance you booked etc
If you log on now, both prices will probably have changed since you last looked.
Would It Be In The Public Interest For Ryanair To Take Over Aer Lingus?
Personally I think not.
I would not like to see the Ryanair arrogance and contempt for customers extended to Aer Lingus.
On the other hand, we don't need the Aer Lingus cabin staff attitude to, and contempt for, customers.
Aer Lingus staff tend to have a very superior attitude which grates with customers.
I don't agree with previous comments about Aer Lingus staff - I think they are fine. Ryanair taking over Aer Lilngus would, in my view, lower the standards of Aer Lingus & it would reduce the essential competition that we have at present.
baggage allowance aer lingus?
I am travelling from the states to Glasgow, Scotland in a couple of weeks using aer lingus, but there is a connecting flight in Dublin. im planning to take two suitcases and carry-on-luggage, but I am worried that I am not allowed to take on two suitcases in Dublin because it is an internal flight?
please help!
When you check in for your flight in the States, you're checked through all the way to Glasgow (Unless, of course, you bought your tickets as two separate purchases -- the US to Dublin and Dublin to Glasgow -- rather than one flight from the US to Glasgow. Which I'm assuming you didn't.) That means that your baggage is also checked all the way through to Glasgow, and so the baggage policy you follow is the one for international flights, not internal flights (regardless of the fact that you will, actually, be taking one during one leg of your journey.)
Since Aer Lingus' baggage policy for international flights is two checked bags (weighing not more than a total of 80lbs), you're fine. (I'm assuming you're flying in economy class. If you're actually flying Business or First, you can go up to a combined weight of 140lbs. Lucky you!)
Now as for your carry-on baggage, you're only allowed one piece whether you're flying internationally or internally, and it can't weight more than 13lbs or be bigger than 22in x 18in x 10in. (Women are allowed a small purse or handbag in addition to this, and you must observe the US-based rules of the TSA -- no liquids over 3oz etc etc.)
