If I purchase a plane ticket for my father, can I collect points on my aeroplan card? I wouldn't be
I am surprising my dad with a flight to jamaica, but I want to use my aeroplan card to collect points. Can I do that if I'm not actually the one travelling? If so, then I will spend extra cash to put him on air canada, otherwise I'll purchase a cheaper flight... thanks for anyone's help!

I have always known it to be true that the miles are awarded to the person who purchases the tickets...

How do I apply for an aeroplan card?
I don't want a credit card, I just want a card that collects points when I fly based on the miles that I fly. Is there a website I can go to? I am Canadian.

You can register for your Aeroplan card online at http://www.aeroplan.com/ . You will have a temporary one online that you can print out and can use right away until the actual card comes to you. If you don't have Air Miles, you can get one at http://www.airmiles.ca/ .

Which points card company gives you more bang for your buck and why? Aeroplan, airmiles, any others?
I just want to pick one and stick to one. But which one will i benefit more off of?

Depends where DO you live, Where do you travel and How do you travel! Each airline belongs to an alliance, plus have partners. Aeroplan is Aircanada on StarAlliance (United, Varig, USAir, etc.) see: http://webflyer.com/ BUt whatever you DO, keep flying on the same alliance to add up miles as soon as possible and enjoy the perks (i.e. airport lounges ans up-grades) I personally like Aeroplan. Worked and works for me.
