Is Aesop mentioned in the Quran?
give reference Aesop author of fables like :The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs, The Boy Who Cried Wolf etc i read about it in wikipedia,so m not sure.following are the lines from wikipedia: Some suppose the sura, or "chapter," in the Qur'an titled Luqman to be referring to Aesop, a well-known figure in Arabia during the time of Muhammad.

Would you care adding in the Wikipedia link here? As for the statement found in Wikipidia, it is a mere conjecturing by some as usual. Consider Chapter Elephant (Feal). Some people suppose it was some kind of desciese that killed the army of Abraha whereas it is clearly stated in Koran that birds threw on Abraha Army pebbles of baked clay to protect the House of God (Khana'e Kaba). Moreover, in Chap-XXXI, Lokman, Al Koran the preaching of Lokman to his son is only this much, rest are the words of God, in the entire Chapter. Here are those: And when Lokman said to his son, admonishing him, 'O my son, do not associate others with God; to associate others with God is a mighty wrong.' .... 'O my son, if it should be but the weight of one grain of mustard-seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, God shall bring it forth; surely God is All-subtle, All-aware. O my son, perform the prayer, and bid unto honour, and forbid dishonour. And bear patiently whatever may befall thee; surely that is true constancy. Turn not thy cheek away from men in scorn, and walk not in the earth exultantly; God loves not any man proud and boastful. Be modest in thy walk, and lower thy voice; the most hideous of voices is the ass's.' (Verses 11~17, Lokman, Al-Koran) God has given a reference of Lokman in this Chapter without saying if he was a Messenger of God, or was not. Plus Lukman has never reffered again in Koran. And Abrah was never named in Koran but people know his name for he was of the recent times, before the birth of Prophet Muhammad. Similarly, there are saying of other people, mostly prophets, are quoted in Koran like that of Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus, and of many more prophets. Furthermore, God never mentioned the Names of the Chapters in Koran, it was people who did it for the sake of distinction & reference. For instance, The Cow (Al Bakara), Chap-II in Koran was named because it was the most important event in that chapter where Jews stared worshiping a golden cow when Moses was with God at the Mount. Hopefully, I have been able to make my point clear. Whatever, God knows the best Who is All-aware.

In the song None Shall Pass by Aesop Rock what is the lyrics to the chorus?
I'm speaking specifically of the warped one line lyrics that is repeated directly after his chorus I looked up the lyrics and I gor either " Let Me In" or "ready At last"

and i will remember your name and face on the day you are judged by the funhouse cast and i will rejoice in your fall from grace with a cane through the sky like "none shall pass" aah, let me in! x2 none shall pass aah, let me in! x2 none shall pass

Aesop's fables vs Africa's and ancient Egyptian civilization vs Mesopotamia's?
I believe whole- heartedly that aesop's fables are african not Greek. However assuming that my belief is right, and in light of my knowledge of the two great civilization; Egypt and mesopetimia, a cronological; or I would rathar say time-factor regarding the two civilizations can be considered about the african originality of aesop's fables; one more evidence to add to the list. What is the time-factor?...And whether you believe or not in the african origionality of the fables, please state your reasons! NP: If you read carefully, you will find that the answer to the time-factor, lies in between the lines. Good luck

May I throw a wrench into the works here? There has been wide specualtion that some of Aesops material may well have come from what we know now as India. There is a definitive correllation between the jataka and the fables. As to Aesop and the timeline....lets see. Aesop wrote his tales in 500/550 BC...or somewhere thereabouts. Egypt was under the control of the Nubians, then the Assyrians, then the Persians from about 700's to 300's. So, there we have an overlapping of Aesop/Egypt/Africa/Mesopotamia. This would mean that there was an interchange of culture. Since Aesop is credited with being born in Phrygia, it isn't impossible that he heard tales brought from Nubia as a child. Having been a slave in Greece, and been freed there, by Xanthas, who is said to have gained some wisdom from Aesops "homely" aphorisms, I'd say it makes a good case for the Nubian origins of his tales. It isn't as though the Greeks don't have a habit of assuming others works as their own. After all, there is a strong case to be made for the decorative arts of Egypt to be the basis of the decorative arts of the Greeks. There is a long history of interchange between the two.
