Could anyone tell me the difference between Cigna vs. Aetna Healthcare?
I will be switching from Aetna to Cigna next week because I recently got a new job and my new employer only offers Cigna. I've tried to do research on the insurance company and found out the my dermatologist does not take Cigna. However, she takes a lot of other coverages including Aetna, BC/BS, and United/Oxford. This leads me to fear that Cigna isn't that great. Does anyone here have Cigna and if you could compare it to Aetna that would be great. I'm quite healthy and am interested mainly in preventive care.
It can't be done. Both Cigna and Aetna have dozens of different plans. So, you could compare one specific Cigna plan to one specific Aetna plan, but you can't compare the two companies from a coverage or provider point of view. It's like comparing Sony to Toshiba.

First you will need to determine which is primary. But you really haven't given enough info in your question. If one is yours (say through an employer) and the other is your spouses (through her employer) then yours is primary for you and hers will be secondary. BUT if one is yours through an employer and one is an individual policy that you pay for, you will have to look at the individual policy to see if it coordinates with any other policy or if it pays you directly.
For the most part, Humana will only cover services supplied by Humana providers, except in the case of an emergency.(Much like Kaiser). You don't say what type of policy the Aetna is-HMO-PPO? Whatever carrier has the better benefit for the service you recieve, you will need to follow their guideline for payment. E.G.-pre-authorization, authorization, referral by Primary Care Doctor to get full benefit coverage. Chances are if the primary pays 80%, the secondary will not pick up any balance UNLESS their benefit as primary was more than 80%.
So you may want to consider the cost of the premium for the secondary policy versus the actual benefits paid. It may not be worth it unless there is a benefit that you need or use that one does not cover and the other does (like chiropractic).

Does anyone know of an insurance company that will work in conjunction with Aetna Dental?
I'm looking to acquire more dental insurance that will work with Aetna dental. This is to help reduce cost. I know people have used their dental and their spouse's together. I'm not married so i need to buy a plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Any other dental insurance will 'work' in conjuction with Aetna.. it's called coordination of benefits. Just be aware that some companies have a clause that will not pay for some treatments when the primary insurance has already paid... it's called a 'non-duplication' clause.
