What is the shape of the ring for the new Affliction fighting league?
UFC has the famous octagon, Elite XC has a circular ring. What is the shape for the new Affliction league?
I also think that it is one similar to that which was used by Pride, or at least a classic "squared circle."
I think that UFC's usage of the cage helps to reenforce the perception that MMA is a bloodsport a caters to a lower class of sports fan. The use of the ring, while not really changing the sport overall, I think will make it more appealing to a wider audience. Plus it's easier to watch the action in a ring than in a cage if you happen to be attending in person.
How is Minatauro Nogueira fighting at the Affliction Banned event while interim UFC champ?
The Affliction site lists him as fighting (not even on PPV). What's the deal.
