Fremantle verses Geelong 2008 Round 6 Freo lost 9 Seconds, Freo Appealed to the AFL, What is the res
Well, I heard that Fremantle have gone to the AFL about the loss of the 9 seconds in the dying seconds of the game.
Fremantle had a free kick and the Freo player kicked it, the umpire called the ball back for some reason and the clock continued to go down, where it should've stopped at 16 seconds.
Is there any result that the AFL have made yet?
I am eager to find out as I went to the game, and I'd be overjoyed if Freo drew or won due to that lost 9 seconds.

However I think that it is a good thing that Freo are showing the AFL that they WILL NOT tolerate these little match losing "mistakes" from umpires. There has been funny business going on for a long time and a lot of people are too scared to speak out because of the threat of fines and the likes (James Hirds remarks about Scott McLaren cos him $20 000!)
Fremantle have done that for a while now, following the 2006 Siren Problems at Aurora Stadium against St.Kilda.
The Freo player was awarded a kick BUT WRONG PLAYER kicked it so umpie RIGHTFULLY called it back. The resultant kick was marked by Taylor of geelong and games ended.
Time should have stopped but didnt but the AFL will this week sanction time keeper but not change result as it is impossible to say Freo would have kicked a goal if there was 9 seconds more. that is how it will go but freo DOES risk putting the AFL side with constant complaints......the game was good.......learn from it and win next week.........that is how it should be
NOTE: complaint has been lodged but AFL will not act on it till business week starts, same as all other business.
