I got an iTunes gift card for christmas. I didn't have an Apple or aol account. How much is the cost and is it monthly?

I want to get an apple account on iTunes, but I don't want to put my credit card number in. All I would want to use is iTunes gift cards. I have tried getting an apple account without putting my credit card number in, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm new with iTunes stuff, so please, if anyone knows how to accomplish this, please let me know.
same for me. I've had an itunes account for about 4 years now and just purchased the gift cards. I was soem how able to get an account w/o entering a credit card number. Pick a gift card up at the supermarket or target. Hopefully it works well for you!
How do I delete my iTunes Apple account?
I want to completely delete it. I've tried looking for a "disable account" button, but nothing!
There's really no official way to cancel an iTunes account because you never get charged unless you buy something. It doesn't cost you anything to keep the account, but if you want to be safe, follow these instructions:
Open iTunes, log in, select "change credit card", and click the radio button next to "none". Now you will have no credit card number on file. That's pretty much the closest thing you can do to cancel an iTunes account.
