What do you think of these findings by BBC Sport about English footballers?
Only 170 of the 498 players in the Premiership who started matches in the 2007-08 season were English, compared to 191 in the 2006-07 season. How are we supposed to compete for the World Cup if we spurn our homegrown players? Should there be a cap on the number of foreign players in the English leagues? Thank You

Brian McClair had an interesting opinion about English - or British- kids for that matter. If I had a nintendo Wii at home when I was young, I would probably not have gone out to play football on a rainy day. So with England having one of the highest individual income -i think- in Europe, its quite normal that countries like portugal would produce more talents. So, usually the poorer the country, the more likely it will produce talents if it has a footballing culture ingrained within. By the way, you'll notice that most world class talents (Zidane, Henry, etc...) of France come from disenfranchised regions... England is also considering building a world-class academy on the model of Clairefontaine's (where virtually all of France's bestest young talent get to mingle and progress at a very early stage of their career), but the project is at a stop because of administative quibbles.
