how do i add words onto my cafepress t-shirts?
i want to put words on the t-shirts i make, but all i see is a browse bar. i don't want to add pictures to it. i just wanna put words on it. what do i click to do that? thanks.

Is it illegal to create T-shirts on Cafepress that contain images of video games? Note: I am NOT sel
I am making these T-shirts for strict personal use only. Only ONE T-shirt will be created, unless it becomes unrepairable due to rips or discoloration, then I would forced to order another. The T-shirts will show images of cover art along with the name of the game and the company responsible for its creation.
I would contact the person/company who owns the copyright and ask if you can use it and why. Any copyrighted material cannot legally be used even if it is just for personal use. If they already have a comparable product, I'm sure they'd like to get paid their due for the use of their logo or other trademarked item.
My former MIL was an artist and had to copyright everything so that she could protect her "intellectual" property.
I've heard it said that if you change something more than 10%, it is no longer the same product and you can use that. My guess is, you were planning on making some neat additions to the characters on your shirts. As long as you change the image slightly, then you should be able to use it. It just depends on how protective these companies are about their copyrights.
I'm a better to be safe than sorry kinda gal. Why not look up images of your video games and see if they already have tshirts for sale. Chances are if someone recognizes the images as from a copyrighted source, they may turn down the job. They don't want to get in trouble, either.
Can I use images of presidential candidates to make a t-shirt on CafePress?
I've seen dozens of t-shirts for sale on CafePress with modified images of the presidential candidates. Is it ok to use their image and likenesses in this way? I always thought if you used someone's face on a product you owe them some sort of royalty or you need to contract to use their likeness.
You can use images/art of US political figures for profit at Cafepress or in another venture without owing the political figure royalty. However, as far as photos go the person who took the photo has the rights/ownership of the given image. So you would need to take your own photo yourself or get permission from the person who took the image if you want to use it for commercial purposes. The only issue is that some people like Arnold Schwarzenegger who was an actor who became a politician. You can sell products with him now but if he leaves office they in theory you would need to stop selling these products. Also, when in doubt about any of these things you really should contact a trademark/copyright attorney just to be sure.
