Questions & Answers
Gerry, The Daily Mail and Airline Tickets - Which version is correct? Gerry's Blog Tuesday 24 July 2007:
"Spent the whole day travelling from the Algarve to Washington where I will be visiting the National and International Centers for Missing and Exploited Children and meeting politicians involved in recent legislation on missing children. The flights for our campaign manager and myself were kindly donated by an airline."
Daily Mail, Saturday 28 July 2007:
"Settling into his sleeper bed in Virgin Upper Class (mindful of the sniping about the £946,000 fund for Madeleine, of which £67,000 has been spent, he bought an economy ticket, but was given a complimentary upgrade, the 39-year-old heart consultant was exhausted."
So which is it Gerry? Were the tickets donated or did you pay for them?
Which part of Gerry's blog did you not understand Faith?.... I'll post it again for you:
"The flights for our campaign manager and myself were kindly donated by an airline."
DONATED is the key word here ... not "our tickets were kindly upgraded by the airline"!
Just because you do not want to see the anomaly it does not mean that it isn't there - as plain as day.
And as for why he was visiting the US... well from the reports that I saw he didn't learn anything about Amber Alert, updating techniques or anything else that most of us don't know anyway and that he could have learned just as well via webcam, email, internet searches and telephone ... tools which international businesses use every day of the week. He said himself that he wasn't going to the States because he believed Madeleine to be there.
According to the Fund Manager all the McCanns expenses are paid out of Madeleine's fund. FAITH, I suggest you learn to read, My name is Lindsay Jane, also keep an eye on your Spelling and Grammar.I cannot respect anyone who leaves their defenseless children alone and unprotected ,can you ?
Do you think its possible to travel cheaply all round the world primarily by hitchhiking? Anybody fancy giving it a go? Or has the Daily Mail put you off going outside your front door for life?
I've not hitched for about 10 years, and my wife won't let me anymore... However I don't believe the world has changed that much in that time. If you believe the daily mail, then you'd never leave the house for fear of being killed by a fox-loving lefty asylum seeker on their way to take drugs at an all night rave NEXT DOOR TO YOU!!!! so I wouldn't worry too much on that score. I hitched all over the UK and Europe as a student and had the time of my life, albeit with a few scary moments. If you have your wits about you, don't get into cars with obviously dodgy characters (wish I'd thought of that before getting into the stolen car on the A1M, or the campervan filled entirely with drunken hippies, the drunkest being the driver), and keep a tent and sleeping bag with you, you should be OK. Just don't come running to me if it all goes wrong and you end up getting botty-raped.
Seriously though, I had some of the best journeys of my life in other people's cars, and met some real characters. I also had a few scary moments, but what is life without a little calculated risk? If they're driving, they can't do much to you, and so as the passenger you generally have the upper hand. Oh, and most people who pick up hitchers used to travel by thumb themselves. Just don't tell my wife I told you that, she'll kill me.
Can you find the PV on daily routine more than me? Daily routine: wake up, get up, take off clothes, put on clothes,
turn on the radio, clean up, turn off TV.
Hotel and travel: check in, check out, stay over night, book in, confirm in, advise of, leave for, check list,
Relationship: speak with, talk with, call about, call in, touch at, call back, mail to, mail from, consult about, consult with, advise on, take care of,
Routine ... I'm afraid I don't have one.
Too much of a ritual.
Afraid to say I take each day as it comes ... but good on you.
