Questions & Answers
At many busy commercial airports for pax jets GA significantly complicates pilots & ATC jobs?
Life would be less stressful & easier for pax jet pilots & ATC staff if GA used separate airports? This would be particularly true at older airports with shorter runways near cities?
Safety would be improved as a result?
I am referring to airports where B 737 & larger jets operate.
How common is mixing of GA & large jets at busy airports?
Actually many moderatly busy airports, with the exception of class B, actually like GA aircraft. Air traffic controlers get some of the basis of pay by the number of operations that they do, a small piper cub still counts in the traffic pattern increases the number of operations at that tower, which increasses the pay for that AT Controller. the problem is when the large airports are expiernecing their heavy workload times or "pushes" where is they are trying to maximize the amount of departures and arrivals of large jets under IFR. a small GA aircraft due to its speed addeds to the seperation problems for other aircraft and this is why some large busy airports will make them stay outside of their airspace until after the amount of scheduled ops have been reduced.
How much money should we bring to relocate to GA from CA?
My fiancée and I are planning to relocate from CA to GA. ( probably around Alpharetta or Marietta) We have started saving for the move, but I’m hoping to find an average budget for this move. We may or may not have jobs set up when we move, so I have already estimated the cost of an extended stay or corporate housing. We plan on driving there, so I have already estimated gas, food and lodging for the drive. However, how much will we need once we actually arrive in GA. The cost of living has to be cheaper there, so that’s why I’m not sure how much to bring. It’ll just be the two of us. ( we probably won’t bring a U-Haul until we are officially settled.) Is there anyone who has made a move similar to this or that plans to? Any advice would help.

The cost of living in GA is cheaper than in California. However, if you are unsure about employment, you should plan on enough money to cover your costs for three months. 2,500 to 3,000 dollars per month should be sufficient to tide you over in the event that employment proves difficult to obtain.
What kind of fruit trees grow best in north Ga?
My husband and I have just bought our first house that comes with 4 acres of land........I love to be outside and garden, I am wanting to grow some type of fruit trees and berries bushes? What are the best types of fruit trees for Ga? Also the best berries bushes for GA?
You should be able to grow just about any type of fruit tree that you like with the possible exception of citrus. Apples, pears, peaches, apricots, plums, and cherries should all do well in your area. Citrus needs to be frost free all year, so you could conceivably keep one or two in pots and bring them inside for the winter.
As for berries, again, just about anything that you like. North GA has about the same climate that we have here in AR so whatever you like the best should grow. Grapes should do well there too.
Order a seed catalog from Burpee.com or Parks Seed (they are free to sign up for) and look at the zone maps. They will tell you what does best in your area and you can usually find them cheaper than buying from a nursery.
