Questions & Answers
how far can you run a 220 electrical cord before loosing amps and what gage is recommended to go 20 we have a tanning bed that we would like to use, however the only 220 outlet is in our laundry room (20ft. prox. if we go through the wall). If anyone has any ideas for a quick temp. solution that would work... let us know!!!
The 220 electrical cords are not the safest things in the world since you are running so much electricity on them. The distance that you can run it solely depends on what gauge you are starting out with. 220 cords of excellent condition are going to run you some money. You can make one yourself if you have the skills to do so, but if you are not to where you can monitor it pretty much all the time, I would not suggest that unless you have complete faith in your work. Going on my experience at my horse farm, it is pretty cheap to have a new 220 plug put in with a new fuse in your breaker box. I think that the last one that I did this for that was over 50 feet away from our box was only around $100. When you look at the pros of having it done the right way and the cons of the potential issues from even using an extension cord, it would be better to spend a little money. If you are set on doing the 220 extension cord, simply ask someone at Lowes or Home Depot or a local electrical supply company (that sell supplies to certified electricians) what gauge and length that you will need. They will do you better than asking on here and they may also have some further ideas/suggestions for you.
98 Ford Ranger Temperature gage Question? When the vehicle warms up with the heater fan on, the temp needle does hardly moves past the very last line on the temp gauge, but when i turn the heater fan off, the needle will rise into the normal zone. When I turn the fan back on, the needle will go down. Any solutions? Thanks

How can I get the dealership to repair their mistake? We brought our vehicle in to have the fuel pump replaced; the vehicle had to be towed into the shop. After recieving the vehicle we discovered the gas gage was not operating properly, which it had been before the repairs. We have repeatedly brought the vehicle back to the shop to have it fixed and they're "solution" was to add 8 bottles of cleaner to try and get the gage to read the gas level properly. Now any mechanic with half a brain cell knows the floater is what reads the gas level and that when you replace the fuel pump on a 2003 Chev Cavalier that the floater comes as part of the new part when replacing the pump! The shop is telling us to pretty much shove it now though and refuses to repair their mistake saying that the gage never worked in the first place before the repairs and said that if I can prove it did work before they'll fix it!
Anyone know how we can force them to fix their screw up, being nice and trying to use logic and vehicle knowledge is obviously not working.
Your auto manufacturer probably has an 'ombudsman'. Get this information to that office along with BBB, and http://www.carcomplaints.com
