Questions & Answers
Track & Field athletes/runners what do you think? When Bernard Lagat recently won 2 golds at the World Track & Field Championships, in my opinion, Kenya won those medals, not the United States. America is following the lead of the Gulf countries like BAHRAIN and QATAR in buying medals. I think it is pretty cheap when athletes sell out and jump ship just for money and prestige. The IAAF needs to put a stop to this. What do you think?
Unlike Qatar the U.S. did not pay Lagat to move to the U.S. There are restrictions on an athlete moving and being able to compete for the new country. There is a time limit on how soon they can compete and a release from their original country.
There are lots of athletes who compete for other countries rather than the U.S. like Felix Sanchez who while born in Dominican Rep. lived and trained in the U.S. not having even visited his "homeland" when he decided it would be easier for him to make their national team.
Is there a job for a track and field's coach? I'm a throwing coach certified by IAAF
If I were you and wanted to coach people I'd go to my local T&F club and ask if there are any coaches needed - if there are, you could start there and coach kids, adults, veterans, etc.
If you are certified by the IAAF that an awesome thing to put on your 'resume' in regards to earning a T&F Coachign job. I'd put an add out in a T&F Magainze or plaster some stuff on the internet. The more exposure you have from various media sources, the greater your chances + options of coaching people in the Throws
