Can the Illinois secretary of state dissolve a corporation for failure to file an annual report?

Not immediately, normally there is a very long grace period.
Most times, you receive a letter stating that the AR is missing or overdue and what action they intend to take.
If you fail to respond then they could charge you additonal fees, cancel your charter or any number of things.
an annual report doesnt have to be complicated or lengthy.
there any number of "canned" reports or services willing to create reports for you. they also charge a fee.
my guess is you have a small corp, need some standard wording and just need to get your act together.
look up a standard report, or copy one from one online....most reports are available either free or a small fee.
then fill it in with your pertinent data or information. and file.
easy peasy.

I am applying for an RDP from the Secretary of State in Illinois, what should I bring to my informal
I am going to do an informal hearing in order to obtain a work RDP from the Illinois Secretary of State. My license was suspended for a year for possessing someone else's ID outside a college bar and I had consumed alcohol earlier in the night. I was given a ticket for Minors: Purchase/Posession which is the citation issued for drinking tickets where I go to school. I took an alcohol/drug eval. through the school and have a letter from the counselor saying that there are no signs of a drinking problem. I also have my driving record (which is clean except for the suspension.) I have been told that I need to bring both of these and show that I need my license (which I do because I am a painter and need this income to pay for school.) Any help/tips on what I should do to help ensure that I will obtain this RDP?
A corporation is filed by an attorney. The application is complicated and complex. You really should seek the advice of an attorney who understands business law. And talk to your accountant as well.
While the advantages of being incorporated are great, it is not necessary to begin your business. Incorporating will protect your personal assets and allow tax advantages but you do not need to do this to open your doors.
There is an excellent resource online where you can learn more about starting your own corporation and what type of corporation you will need. Do a search on Drew Miles. I signed up with him and have been a student for about 2 months now and have learned so much.
