Why does Iowa State University display a cardinal on their football helmets if their mascot is a cyc
@qaa_question

The original name of ISU's teams was the Cardinals. After a game which ISU won resoundingly, the next day's newspaper printed a headline on the other team being hit by an "Iowa Cyclone", or something to that effect. Have provided a reference link:

what should i do when im a transfering student to a university?
i'm transfering to Iowa State University. but what should i do in august when i want to go to a football game or basketball game whatever and i have no one to go with. should i go by myself? is it worth it? i really love sports. i just hope that i'll make friends there, since all my life ive had a hard time making friends.

Dude... i've already transfered into university! I didnt know anyone. it sucked... but take it as a learning opportunity. I use to go to the football games and soccor games alone (mainly to check out the guys that is :D). It sucked the 1st few times...but WHO CARES. honestly we're not in 1st grade where people will turn their heads and laugh. Going alone is a great way to meet other people at the games! But if you're really insecure about going alone the best thing to do is.. in ur first couple of classes, make friends...ask them if their busy later.. and go together. Just remember, when making friends (i know its hard) trust me on this, u need to be urself. someone will have common intrests as you... but how will they know that if u dont share it?! dont be someone ur not. lies arnt the best way to start out school! esp. university And try not to look awkward, if u do go alone - people sense things like that. so my dear friend. stand up straight... put ur head up high - smile! :D AND GO WATCH THAT GAME :D!!! i have faith in you. i know u can do it. go 4 it ! good luck, i hope i somewhat helped! :D cheers!

Iowa Hawkeye Football 2008?
I am getting ready to go back to the University of Iowa for the fall, and I LOVE going to Hawkeye football games. I know last year we struggled alot, mostly on offense, and we lost several key defensive players. We also have tough games against Iowa State, Penn State and Wisconsin. Any thoughts or predictions for the Hawks this year?

Iowa hasnt got any better than last year really.They will get to a bowl game however this season and most likely finish 7-5 or 8-4.There season is tough but its the big ten...its not much of a challenge as of late and only team taking advantage of that is Ohio State.If your a true hawkeye fan dont worry.You get to witness some exciting games with Iowa show a glimse of a come back in 2009 but this year you'll enjoy the games for sure.
