Questions & Answers
Do you support the construction of the Fall River/New Bedford MBTA Commuter Rail Line within the nea It would most likely service these following southeastern Mass. municipalities:
Easton, Raynham, Taunton, Freetown, Fall River, New Bedford, as well as some other municipalities between Easton and Boston.
Yes.
Does it cost anything if traveling between nearby MBTA stations within the same zone on the Commuter I.E. Attleboro and South Attleboro are nearby MBTA stations in the same zone and line on the Commuter Rail system.
Would it cost anything traveling between those stations?
Yes, those interzone trips will cost you. For example, between Attleboro and South Attleboro is an Interzone 7 trip, which will cost you $4/trip.
Why hasn't Massachusetts placed a commuter rail yet through the cities of Taunton, Fall River, & New Yet, the MBTA placed a commuter rail into Providence, Rhode Island, and they are planning on expanding it soon into Warwick, Rhode Island.
Good news the rail is coming. It took 13 years to get all the permits (ahhh we love the commonwealth). I hear the last permit was secured and the money is in place. If the pols don't mess it up, construction will start soon. The commuter rail went to to Providence because Rhode Island paid for it.
