What's it like to work for Mcmaster-Carr? I have an interview approaching.?
I would like to know what it is like to work for Mccaster-Carr company. I have an interview coming up next week and I would like some information about the company before I accept (if I'm offered). It is for a management trainee position. Any comments or experiences, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.
I went through a few rounds of interviews with them b4, but never heard from them ever again. I don't know what happened. But, it seems like the company is pretty selective with hiring new employees. Please let me know if you get a job offer.

Does anyone know of a catalog type store that's a cheaper alternative to McMaster-Carr? I'm looking for a specific type of metal product but I know McM-C charges double what it really costs and would love to find a similar catalog company that sells the same type of things but doesn't completely rip you off.
(And please don't say "They have metals at home depot or lowes")
For tools, harbor freight is a cheap alternative.
For bulk metals, your best bet would be a local supplier or check on ebay. Believe it or not, people sell bulk metal on ebay for a relatively low price.
Regardless, it depends on what specific item you're looking for.
