Questions & Answers

Can anyone tell me what the nada blue book value on a 1988 citation travel trailer is?
It is a travel trailer 26 feet by 7.1 feet. It is in excellent condition. Thanks anyway trivia.... but, it is a camper, not a car.

check if they have trailors on Edmunds.com. If not, I would check you local newspaper or call a dealer in used trailors. Really depends upon where you live. Folks in LA don't want a trailor but folks in Maine would buy 'em up!

Why is there such a difference between Kelly Blue Book and NADA trade in values?
I am in the process of trading in my 2004 car on a a new truck and in doing my research am finding the NADA trade-in value is over $2000 higher than the Kelly Blue Book value; for the same car! Of course, the dealer presented me with a deal reflecting the Kelly value, and I of course countered with the NADA value... So, which value should I deem realistic and why such a huge difference? Ah, the pleasantries of buying a car...

most dealerships use Kelly blue book...not because they are trying to gouge you, but because it is a more accurate value of what the car is really going for. They also look at what the car is going for at auction... They are not a not for profit organization obviously... NADA tends to be way to high on trade in value they are also comparing that trade in price to paying sticker. They also do not give accurate invoice prices for the new vehicles. Remember if you want to pay the dealership wholesale for their car then that is what you should expect to receive for your trade in. If you want to receive NADA for your car you should pay sticker because your discount is received in your trade in value... Sincerely, Honest car sales person

what is the difference between Kelly Blue Book and NADA?
Are they the same thing, owned by the same people? i've heard that only NADA is accepted at banks, but i've only heard of Kelly Blue Book while growing up.

They are basically 2 different reference points to use when trying to figure the value of a vehicle, and are usually used along with Manheim (which is an auction source that is accessed by dealerships to see what cars are selling for at auction) They each have their own method of valuation, just like having 2 different opinions on people appraising your vehicle. We use them as a Guide....not a Know all....to help get a good estimate of what a customers vehicle is actually worth and to find out if the vehicle is worth selling and how much money can be expected to make when selling said vehicle.
