Can I switch my 8GB iPhone to a 16GB one? (UK only)?
I have an 8gb iphone which i have run out of memory on, and my friend only needs an 8gb one so says he would be willing to buy a new 16gb and swap with me (me paying him, obviously.) We are both fine paying O2 customers, my iphone is activated and he would activate the new 16gb so the question is with 2 activated iphones and iphone O2 sim cards could we just switch over the sim cards?
I would NOT consider jailbreaking / unlocking either because of warranty / bricking reasons.
Only answer if you are in UK / know about 02 - AT&T maybe totally different!!
I also bought it just after it came out in November if it helps!
If anyone wans to know the answer, here is-
I emailed O2, and you CAN. You can buy the 16GB, put your sim in it and activate it (no extra charge) and then that's it! Your old iPhone will be relocked so you can sell it / give it to a friend and they can activate it as usual by starting / upgrading their O2 contract.
Voila!

Should I buy an 8GB or a 16GB iphone?
i have been looking into buying an iphone for a while now but don't know whether it's worth forking out extra money for the 16GB rather than the 8GB. At the moment there is a £100 discount on the 8GB if you buy online with O2. This makes it a lot cheaper but is that enough to go for the smaller memory?
the 8Gb iphone is so incredibly cheap right now, i think you are better off getting that one!! 8Gb is a lot of space! if however you want a massive database of songs with you all the time, then perhaps the 16Gb is needed.
my friend got the 8Gb one, and he is changing albums round on his iphone every now and again. he knows he wont be able to listen to all the songs in one go, so theres still plenty of variety.
