Its £269 regardless of what tariff your on. It will not be free for sometime to come. Its also a very poor handset, and its simply the typical apple hype that makes it sound good.
If motorola released the exact same device, but it said motorola instead of apple it would flop.
I suggest you read peoples experiences with the handset before jumping the gun

I spoke to a lady from o2 today about the iphone tariff and she said that the tariff I was looking at had unlimited internet access, does this mean that I can use the internet anywhere or only in a wifi hotspot?
the iphone can use it anywhere... it has wifi so you would use the wifi where it's available, but then you would turn the wifi off and use the edge network when your not in a wifi area
