Do Australian airlines (Qantas and Virgin Blue) get fined by the airport for late departures and arr
If they do get fined, this would be a great idea to implement for TV networks.
I don''t know. If they did get fined it would probably be determined on the reason for the delay. You have to keep in mind there are alot of things that could delay a flight. Such as
1. Weather
2. Air Traffic Control.
3. Mechanical problems.
4. Passenger problems such as illness or someone forgetting their passport. (Had a 1 hour and 30 min delay for both of these reasons on the same flight.
5. The amount of air traffic at the airport such as the number of planes waiting to take off before you and the number of planes landing before you.
Some of these are unavoidable and I don't think they would get fined. Example, weather is an act of god you can't do much about that.
