Hi, I have a flight that is from melbourne- sydney (with qantas) - tokyo (with japan airlines). The baggage gets transferred to Tokyo and I don't collect it in Sydney. I am confused about this part: The baggage allowance for qantas (international, economy ) is 20kg (doesn't matter how many pieces). The baggage allowance for qantas (domestic, economy ) is ONE piece (32kg). So for the first leg of my journey- "melbourne to sydney", would I be allowed the international limit, or the domestic limit? (one luggage case isn't enough for me because I'll be packing a lot of big, thick winter coats which take a lot of room). I emailed qantas but they gave me the generic list of rules about international and domestic allowances, but didn't answer about connecting flight allowances. thanks! Qantas should not question you since the baggage gets transferred directly by Qantas. You are an international traveller...
