How do you get into the new Qantas first class lounge at the Sydney Airport?
I have a platnium qantas card, but i am departing tomorrow on a flight in economy class. Can I still get into the lounge?
first class lounges are a premium product with any airline; esp. if the route is intl. i might ask politely for a brief tour. let the "gate keepers" know ur only a platnum card status and has heard wonderfull thing in regards to the new first class lounge. since only confirmed first class intl passenger has access to the first class lounge they might denied you entrance. asking a few friendly question has never hurt anyone; besides i would think qantas would be excited to get the word out.

for international flights on QANTAS how long before the departure should you arrive at the airport?
if i want to get a flight from los angeles, USA to Brisbane in australia how much time should i leave before departure to check in and go through customs and stuff. also it is a QANTAS flight if that helps.
The TSA suggests that you arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to your flight. To allow yourself plenty of time to get through the lines in security and customs lines. You can check the average wait times for LAX here:

How long will it be before Qantas has a major crash?
It is only a matter of time as a lot of maintanance in now done in Asia.
Unfortunately it is not up to Australian or European standard.
There have been many major dramas with Qantas over the last few years since they decided to get "cheap" maintanance done overseas.
Within 2-3 years there will be a crash. Any bets?
i believe qantas want have a crash but the emercgy that have happen to qantas are really bad
1. the hole in 747
2. the doors would closer on 734 happen in sa
3. the flight from nsw to nt had problems

Is the Qantas Aircraft name unique or does it apply to several Aircraft?
Does any one know if 'Spirit of Australia' is a single Aircraft or does it apply to several in the Fleet. Was the Aircraft that experienced the RD out of Hong Kong the same 'Spirit of Australia' that lost it's Starboard Winglet to a Blast Fence in June of 06 at JFK?

'Spirit of Australia' is on all Qantas planes. They are named and usually the name is painted near the cockpit.
The plane out of bankok was VH-OJK, has RR engines and named 'Longreach' The JFK plane was VH-OEE, has GE engines and named 'Nullabor'.
Not all planes have their names painted on the outside but they all say 'Qantas Spirit of Australia'
