QFT is a three-letter abbreviation with multiple meanings, as described below:
* [[quantitative feedback theory]].
* [[quantum field theory]], an application of quantum mechanics.

(by: Aatish) He then reviewed a different way of talking about QFT which was not manifestly local, called BCFW, where you analytically continue the momenta of an incoming and an outgoing particle in some scattering process. ...

Most physicists today do not take the theory seriously as a true representation of reality. Among those who care about reality (which does ...

Algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, differential topology, …. are nice, and some advanced concepts in QFT, require knowing these subjects. ...

Note that they regard the ...

Questions & Answers
Is there a QFT book with the authority and scope akin to that of Gravitation by MTW? @qaa_question
Probably Steven Weinberg's 3-volume set:
The Quantum Theory of Fields
What is the difference between Quantum Electrodynamics and Quantum Field Theory? Qualitatively. I believe QED is a special case of QFT is this correct?
Does QFT describe the Strong Nuclear Force as well?
Yes, QFT is the general framework for how you quantize field theories. When you apply it to electromagnetism, you get QED.
The QFT that describes the strong nuclear force is QCD, Quantum Chromo Dynamics. It is the theory of quarks and gluons, based on SU(3) symmetry (if that appeals to anyone).
what does QFT and FTW mean? i need to know.
ummm i don't think thats what ftw means...... im gonna go check at &t
QFT = Quoted For Truth (It is usually used when you quote someone on a forum post and you agree with what they say)
FTW = For The Win (eg. If you're the asker of a question on Y!A and you really like one of the answers as it is really good and the answer works for you and you choose him/her as the best answer, you can write something like "FTW what an answer!"
However both of these slangs can mean some other things too but usually these mean what i mentioned.
