Questions & Answers
how can we do intoduce qlogic iscsi with emc san ? @qaa_question
that depends. what type of emc san? is it an iscsi or fibre channel san? or, are you using ndmp? and, what do you mean by "introduce"? are you simply trying to do an integration/installation of a qlogic iscsi hba? if you're going to ask that kind of question, you need to provide more background on your issue & environment. so, without knowing more, my answer for now will have to be as general as your question. the quick & simple answer is, no, you can't mix iscsi & fibre channel on the same san. well, at least, not if you want all of the devices to be able to talk to each other. they're two totally different storage protocols. and, the hardware is different, too. you would need something between the two to do the conversion (block storage multi-protocol converter).
If I get a 2 channel amp how should I wire my subs to get the max power from the amp.? I have 2 volfenhag 1000 watt subs in a Qlogic enclosure and I'm thinking about getting an earthquake 1000 watt 2 channel amp ( do you think this amp will make these speakers jump HARD??). So in detail how should I wire these subs to the amp? Need help guys/gals I am buying this amp today depending on what feedback I get from you people. Thank you
Just be aware that loading an amp with lower impedance to get more power that you also increase THD (total harmonic distortion). It's best to find an amp that pushes the watts RMS desired at a higher impedence for better quality, longer life of the amp and cooler running of the amp.
An example, if you want 300 watts RMS to hit your subs and your subs are 150 watts RMS @ 2 ohm each, wire the subs in series (4 ohms) and get an amp thats 300 watts RMS @ 4ohms.
There is one person out there that swears running in series sends an unbalanced signal to the subs and this couldn't be further from the truth.

qlogic bandpass box be good for my two 12inch subwoffer? i have two 12inch performance technics that have a 2000 watt peak and 350 rms . which i have a 900 american bass watt amp. its not hoked up yet and my friend gave me a qlogic bandpass box people say there good some people say they suck .. will this box ruin my subs.. thanks
The people that say that they suck did not have the correct subs in the box. Any box with the correct subs in will sound good. For the most part the q-logic box is alright, matched with the correct subs will be a good box.

should my sub in a bandpass box face forward or back? i have a kenwood 12" sub in a qlogic bandpass box. i drive a ford escort sedan....and the rear seats fold down. i know that if you have a sealed or ported box, you should face the box to te rear of the car to extend the length of the low sound waves, but in a bandpass box all the sound is coming out of the top.....so should it face the cabin? or does it even matter.
face them towards the back, the ports are at the top, but some sound from the subs still travels through the plexi-glass
