Is Quantum of Solace originally a Book by Ian Fleming?
I'm curious. I would like to know so that I can read it. I read on wiki that it's a sequel to casino royale. I read casino royale and I'm pretty sure that there isn't a sequel to it.
Scientifically, a quantum is the smallest amount of something that can exist and still be that something. The idea is that reality is lumpy on small scales...you can't have an arbitrarily small amount of anything, you're limited to at least 1 quantum of it if you have any at all.
"Quantum of Solace" is an actual Fleming title for a James Bond short story, not something made up by the movie people. And it refers to the absolute least solace (or comfort) one could find or be offered. Very literally the least you could do to comfort someone. So, the implication is that in the wake of the emotionally nasty events of Casino Royale, Bond finds some VERY small comfort in whatever it is he ends up doing.

"Quantum of Solace" is a small degree of comfort that can exist between two people emotionally in a relationship. The Governor character in the Ian Fleming short story of the same name defines it as "... a precise figure defining the comfort, humanity and fellow feeling required between two people for love to survive. If the quantum of solace is nil, then love is dead."
The title is taken from Fleming's short story of the same name in the book "For Your Eyes Only". This was the first collection of Fleming James Bond short stories and was first published on April 11, 1960. The collection was subtitled "Five Secret Occasions in the life of James Bond" and was the 8th James Bond book. It also included the short stories "The Hildebrand Rarity", "From A View To A Kill", "Risico" and "For Your Eyes Only".

Nope thats Michael G. Wilson the producer of the bond series he makes a cameo appearance in most of the recent movies and played the chief of police in casino royale where oo7 and rene mathis are sitting at a cafe in Montenegro.

I am thinking of buying quantum of solace but I haven't played the james bond games in ages. I am wondering if it is as good as the old games??? Is it much worse, worse, same, better or much better???

i have it and im a huge james bond fan. its actually a pretty good game, but its much different because now the James bond games r published by activision, not ea. its better then a few of the old games tho but not the best. its worth buying
