Turn off AC in Houston apartment during vacation?
I'll be on vacation for 2 weeks, and I've heard that it's better to turn the temp up on my AC rather than turning it off. I live in a small apartment in Houston, so humidity is a MAJOR factor and it's mid July...so very hot! I plan on unplugging most of appliances, except the refrigerator (stuff in the freezer).
If you turn the AC off, the unit will have to work too hard to bring the apartment back down to temperature. It will have a negative impact on the motor load.
I'd leave it at around 80 degrees.
