    what does "Te sakam najmnogu na cel svet" mean in Macedonian?
    @qaa_question

    It means 'I LOVE THE BEST IN THE WHOLE WORLD' Te sakam = I love you Najmnogu = best svet = world

    Can anyone translate this? I'm told it's Russian - na tebe soshelsa klinom belyi svet ???
    I know it's all in the roman alphabet so I assume it's phonetic. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it!

    "Belyi svet" is a Russian idiom. It means the "whole world". (laterally meaning "everything that's under the light" as opposed to the "other", dark world. The word "svet" in this case is not translated as LIGHT, it has an another ancient meaning - the world). "Klin" is literally a "wedge", "angle". However "soitis' klinom" is another Russian idiom, meaning to "become the center". (two angles, wedges, come together pointing at the center). The whole phrase is a part of an old Russian song and this phrase has become an idiom itself. It means: "You have become the center of whole world". Normally it was used in a negative sense in form of a question: "Na tebe chto, belyi svet klinom soshelsya?" "What? You're the center of the world?" However in this particular case it has more of a positive sense. In the song the guy is "complaining" that the girl has become the center of the whole world in his eyes.

    What is a svet?
    My friend always says that he's a svet. Is it a Russian thing? What is it? oh yeah, and how do you pronounce it right?

    Check out the link below. Evidently svet has several meanings, but not pronunciation key.
