    Questions & Answers

    What should i do with my tabcorp shares??
    @qaa_question

    Good question. I have some myself and bought them at around $17. Since then I've seen them steadily decline and now this! Apart from having to operate within a government framework, Tabcorp performs badly for other reasons. I think their management is too overly focused on accounting and not on the customer. Gaming after all is a customer focused/ service oriented business. The refurbishments of places like Jupiters and Taberet outlets has been (I believe) a kneejerk reaction to the punters voting with their feet. For example, who wants to fight to get onto a blackjack table? Who wants to wait ten minutes for a machine attentant to organise their payout? Tabcorp have stretched things too far, concentrating on the bottom line and not the customers. I'm sick of this lazy management always blaming outside factors....perhaps if they were better managers, and genuinely commited to responsible gaming, todays decision may not have gone this way. As long as they maintain their dividends around what they've been doing I'll be happy....but somehow I think this might be a tall order. In effect today's decision is a get out of jail free card for current management.
