What do you have to score on the ACT the get in to UAB?
Im in the 10th grade lookin for imformation on what I need in order to get into UAB I really need to know the ACT score that i need to make
Go to their website....
They should have admission standards on their site. If not, then contact that admission department for that information.

If you could tell me the what you like and don't like about the schools, and for Samford the big rules that would really help me decide which college to go to.

"Tradition and excellence" go hand in hand at the University of Alabama's flagship Tuscaloosa campus. Combining an atmosphere of "Southern charm with a modern and certainly enriching education," 'Bama offers the best of all worlds to students seeking a "student-centered research university with a rich tradition of academic, athletic, and community excellence where any student can find peers with common interests, enhance his or her knowledge base, and forge friendships that will last a lifetime." Students agree that UA is "a first-rate public university," and that "with 18,000 students and tons of majors and student organizations, this place can be about whatever you want it to be." Standout programs include business, accounting, dance, nutrition and dietetics, social work, communication and information science, and nursing. Honors students praise the administration for offering "strong support" and "incredible research opportunities" to program participants. In many areas, professors are "top researchers or writers in their fields" who "go out of their way to help you with whatever you need." UA also offers "a wide range [of] opportunities for hands-on experience. The colleges work with students to place them in internships that will allow them to grow and learn about their field, and also make contacts for future employment."
Established in the late 1960s, University of Alabama at Birmingham "is a young and growing university that places a lot of emphasis on academics and diversity in the student population." Students appreciate that the school is always "growing and changing." As one student says, "I can honestly say that UAB is actively working to improve its facilities, sports, and student activities on a daily basis. This administration is really bending over backwards to improve every aspect of UAB, from student life to academics." UAB has "an internationally-known research hospital on campus, and a cutting-edge PhD program in medical sociology." Students praise the school's "very intense premedicine and pre-nursing program," and mention that "UAB Business School graduates have a very high job placement rate." Since UAB is located in the largest city in the state, "opportunities for internships abound. "Samford University is definitely not your average college stereotype," students tell us, pointing out that "you either love it or you hate it. However, if it is your type of school, it's heaven on earth." Those who fit in best are conservative, Southern, and either Baptist or very comfortable with Baptist values. The "focus on Christian heritage" is strong here, as is the imperative to "use the knowledge obtained to bring glory and honor to God." Some students temper this assertion somewhat, pointing out that "although SU is a Southern Baptist college with a very strong religious background, no one is bombarded with Christianity. Everyone has the right to choose what they believe in here." During class, efforts are made in getting "to know each and every one of the students. Professors are "excellent teachers/facilitators who are more than willing to collaborate with students, be confronted, entertain varying opinions, maintain an open mind, and help willing students to succeed both academically and in other aspects of their field of study, such as internships, conferences, graduate school recommendations, etc." A "very good pharmacy program," solid nursing and business programs, diverse offerings in journalism and communication, and the visual and performing arts are among the most popular programs. How can my daughter get much needed help with college tuition? She will be attending UAB Tuscaloosa?
Her biological father won't help, even though it is a court order for him to do so..(any ideas with that too?) I am remarried, but we are having a tough time. We are willing to sacrifice, but we still need the basics---electricity, food, water, well you get the picture. We have no luxurys. We both work hard, but having a hard time making ends meet---specially now, that she is starting college in just a few weeks. I have another daughter who will start college next year---then what do we do? Stop eating? PLEASE HELP!!!
There are tons of scholarships that go unclaimed each year. Many $400, $500 or $1000 scholarships never even get applied for because people think it's chump change and not worth applying for. Well, get a few of those $500 scholarships and it'll really make a dent in your tuition bill.
Do a search on scholarships, search your major, your ethnic heritage, your town, your parents employers, your employer, hobbies, high school, local chamber of commerce/rotary/ lion's club etc. Left-handed? There is a scholarship out there for you! Older woman returning to school? There are scholarships out there for you. Do combined searches on more than one criteria "hispanic women aviation scholarships" etc.
Go to the library and ask the reference librarian for a reference book on scholarships. They usually have more than one. There are all kinds of scholarships out there, you just have to start applying yourself and make it your summer career to send out letters everyday for scholarships. Good luck!
